Just today I received a copy of Toyon, the literary journal put out by the fine people at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. One of my photographs, 'Battery Point in a Storm,' can be found on page 88. This is Toyon's 54th volume, for which they've added a CD insert of spoken-word performances. Very cool idea, so I look forward to listening to that when I get home tonight.
By the way, congratulations to my friend and colleague Erin who had several works published in the same edition of Toyon, including two prize-winning poems ("The Apple" won the Jodie Stutz Memorial Prize" for best poem submitted to the journal this year; "Monster" won the Ruth Mountaingrove Award for best poem in form). I also see that my friend Suza has won the Sherry Dabrowski Award for her short story "Flea." This award honors the best work by a woman. So congratulations to you both!
